Christmas Maze Book

As we draw to the end of 2007 I wanted to get this maze book done with a few photos from Christmas Day, I purposely chose enough photos to fill the book as there are a lot I wanted to use, I have put some journalling on to tags which go in the little pockets that the folds of the book make.

One of my new year resolutions is to plan my photos better so that they don't have all the rubbish in the background!!! I'm going to try and remember anyway, I need to set up a plain photo area to take them in!!

I was sent the papers and maze book for my secret santa from one of the girls on my team on ukscrappers.

Jacobs Ladder

I felt like a change from Christmas Cards and decorations (with the minding babies) today and decided to make a Jacobs Ladder, which I saw in Scrapbook Magazine (Issue 27). I'm pleased with it and chose a few pics of the kids that I like, not on a particular theme. I should have waited for natural light tomorrow but wanted to photograph it tonight so the pictures arn't fab.

UKS challenge, Oct wk 4

Here is this weeks challenge I've done. I love these bright papers and always have loved bright colour baby clothes, so thought the papers would go with George's vest in the photo, my two were never pastel clothes babies!!! Sometimes much to their disgust when they look back at photos.

Boys cards

I don't know why I struggle with boys cards, It's the one area I seem to struggle with ideas for, I made one tonight for a 15 year old. Hope they like it.

The end of the school holidays are rapidly approaching and I'm going to miss my guys they are at the age now where they are really good company, obviously they have the odd spat but mostly hey play well together and enjoy being each others sibling. I hope they stay that way as they grow older.

First Heritage Page

It's taken me a long time to start scrapping my heritage photos but last weeks ukscrappers challengewas to use a heritage photo. This photo is of my Great Great Granny Fry standing in her cabbages in her garden in Dorchester.

I probably should have used cabbages paper but not sure if there is such a thing!!!!

Charlotte had a sleepover at the weekend and I took some photos of her and her friends, to use in a mini book which I made from a class on this weeks cyber crop on ukscrappers. The photos aren't really clear and I don't think they do it justice I'll try and get some clearer ones, but the girls were really pleased with them. The ouc of Charlotte is her wearing her facemask they all di d in the evening.

Exploding box

I love these little boxes, they are really easy to make and look fab. Non crafters think you've spent hours over them!! I use the instructions from this site:

This one has Legoland photos and the kids really like it and have looked at it loads.

August week 1 challenge (uk scrappers)

I made this layout for the week 1 challenge, the brief was to follow a sketch, 11 of something, a musical term or symbol your own art work, use threads or fibres.

I really enjoyed doing it and loved the photo of Charlotte and her friend.

Static!!!

I just had to take this photo today when Charlotte was on the trampoline and shouted 'Mum, look at my hair'!! It was hilarious and I could hardly take it for laughing!! She must have been bouncing like mad to have built up that much static!!

28th July 2007

Took the kids to soft play this afternoon as Charlotte had a friend over, once we had helped another friend move house. While they played I made these beady bookmarks. I'm really pleased with the way they came out and Charlotte and her friend Lilea have helped themselves to them already!! I got the idea and info on making them from the August copy of Your Home magazine that I had from my friend who's moved!!

I completed a layout for the Tequilla July interteam challenge, the criteria were a picture of a holiday in the sun, someone smiling, the colour yellow and use a stamp. I love this picture of Georgie.

Also made a mini book for Gary's aunt who has not been well this week, it is about her and her sister (Gary's mum). I tied it together with a piece of RikRak

Last week in school

The kids are having their last week in school before the summer holidays, which we are all looking forward to, especially as I'm not minding for the first 2 weeks so it will just bethe four of us which will be novel.

This is the card that I made for Charlotte and George's Teachers who have been great this year and offered encouragement and support beyond the call of duty. The card has a bit for an insert in the card as usual and the flap on the front is an extra bit. to make it like a satchel.

16th July 2007

Had a fab weekend for taking photos but have had no time to scrap anything so thought I'd share a photo of Gary having far too much fun with George's pretend gun (he won it, I don't let them have weapons normally) on Brighton pier. He's shooting the children who were riding in the tea cups!!

Here we are doing our exercises beforehand.

27th May 2007

Well a fun filled day sorting out the fish tank and buying new goldfish to keep our one (won at a fair and living forever) goldfish company. Decided it was about time he had some playmates so cleaned out the big tank and now they all look lovely swimming around together. The kids have tried naming them but naming 10 continually moving goldfish that pretty much look all the same is hard but quite funny to watch! The original is ok he's called Harry, and bigger than the rest so easy to spot, but the others, one of them has more black on him so he's called shrek, the others are called flounder, Gary!!!(George's contribution) Dory, Chunk, Salt, Pepper and 4 to be named at a later date!! I'll keep you posted, I can tell you're waiting with baited breath.

Did manage to go to a docraft demo and see a friend of mine there, so that was cool bought a few bits! just a few honest. Also managed to complete the when I grow up layout for the May 3rd week challenge on uk scrappers. The words at the botom say, Happy Times, Draining, Good Friends, Rewarding, Emotional, Challenging, Stressful, Supportive, Fun, Fantastic Kids & the journalling is hidden under the photo of me now, hinged with the arrow head and lifted with the ribbon tag.

25th May 2007

Well hurray the bank holiday has begun, not that I don't enjoy childminding but it's nice to spend time with my own 2!!!

They are exhausted tonight because they had a non uniform day at school and had races, egg and spoon, dressing up relay! and a balloon release and many other exhausting activities to celebrate the schools 20th anniversary. They each proudly brought home a mug the school gave to them. It was quite amazing no one dropped them on their way out of the classrooms they were all cradling them so carefully, bless them.

I hope to get some crafting done this weekend but must also give the bungalow a good old clean!!!

Next week is half term so we'll be out on little trips with the childminding children I must remember to take the camera for pics to go in their memory books.

22nd May 2007

Well so much for writing my thoughts everyday!!! The kids had a beach ball disco at school on Saturday, Charlotte had a fab time and we had bought her some new cotes, she actually asked for a dress, she hasn't worn a dress (apart from being a bridesmaid) since she was about 3. I did the layout for the week 3 challenge on ukscrappers. George wasn't so into it he wanted me to stay but was too shy to dance bless him, never mind there's always next year.
